Research Interests:

I have been refining a technique for making measurements of force simultaneously during EPR spectroscopy. Our goal is to correlate changes in myosin head structure with changes in force and to determine how this relationship is affected by aging. I am also interested in studying the nature of the electrostatic forces between the myosin head and the actin filament during force generation. To explore this interaction I will be exploring new spectroscopic techniques using novel spin probes and modeling probe mobility during acto-myosin interaction.
